The money just flew today. It was expected. I knew I’d be spending at least $350 if not more today and that’s exactly what I did. Spent over $400 and still expecting more expenses through the week (one being that doctor visit and other bills).
Phew. It’s never ending, isn’t it? So temporary though! Will there be money in Heaven? All will disappear and fade away and I know that God will provide for my needs. Thanks to the tax return money I did store away, I was able to pay for those things today and get what I needed (for Ducky, my car).
I’m praying money doesn’t become an idol and something I cling so tightly to, that I feel like I can’t let go. I leave you not only with Matthew 6:20-24 but also In Over My Head by Bethel (Yes, I listen to their music and I’m a conservative Christian).
Matthew 6:20-24, “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
